MuMo
The MuMo (Mobile Museum) was founded by Ingrid Brochard to make contemporary art accessible to those who are far from it, by sharing an artistic and aesthetic experience in local areas. After an initial version designed by the architect Adam Kalkin in a container in 2011, a new travelling museum was created with the designer matali crasset in 2017, to showcase works from the collections of the Frac (Fonds régionaux d’art contemporain), as a complement to their off-site activities. A third truck, the MuMo x Centre Pompidou, created in collaboration with Art Explora, was inaugurated in June 2022 to circulate the Centre’s collection.
Since 2011, the Mobile Museum has visited 150,000 visitors around the world, travelling to where they live, primarily in rural and suburban areas.
From October to December 2023, the MuMo will criss-cross the Hauts-de-France region, carrying an exhibition devised by the Frac Grand Large, in conjunction with the Frac Picardie and the Art & Industry Triennial. For 12 weeks, training sessions, workshops, visits and encounters will be offered to schools, extra-curricular activities and residents of Aisne, Nord, Pas-de-Calais and Somme.
