Véronique Joumard

1964, Paris, France

Véronique Joumard (Grenoble, 1964) lives and works in Paris. She is a multimedia artist who incorporates natural or artificial light in her work. Véronique Joumard is interested in devices that make energies visible. This desire to explore the appearance of energy in her work reflects a connection with minimal art, which also integrates the image-production process into the artwork.

The artist’s research is linked to the observation of phenomena, facts perceived by the senses or consciousness. In this process, the selection of objects, the exploration of materials, and their experimentation play a significant role. Their unstable and changing nature reflects for Joumard the duality of the world.

Her work has been exhibited at the Setouchi Triennale in Japan (2022) at Paravents, table et couleurs, Gilles Drouault gallery/multiples in Paris, and recently, she has also received public commissions for Line 3 of the Toulouse metro and contemporary stained glass windows for Bayeux Cathedral.
