Urban landscape — Élise Carron & Fanny Devaux
Accès
Strange banners flutter in the wind, welcoming visitors to the Triennale. The installation I’m Late refers to the world of sleep and laziness, thwarting the symbolism of belonging inherent in flags and the territories they represent. Duvets, pyjamas, bathrobes and clocks with no hands all serve as reminders of the need to resist the frenetic, relentless rhythms of our times.
Composed from textile pieces with ambiguous and imaginary shapes, the flags invested by Élise Carron and Fanny Devaux are as much a call to resist the hyperactive world as they are a celebration of our moments of inaction, maladjustment and delay.
