Exhibition title: Émotions Terranaissantes
L’Espace Croisé is delighted to present Émotions Terranaissantes, a solo exhibition by Elise Guillaume to coincide with the Art and Industry Triennial in Dunkirk. Through video works produced from the North Sea to the Arctic, Elise Guillaume traces the links between psychological states and climatic conditions. Borrowing the title of the exhibition from the concept of philosopher Glenn Albrecht (The Earth’s Emotions, 2020), the artist invites us to fully experience the emotions aroused by ecological reality. Émotions Terranaissantes looks at the transformative power of these states – from grief to hope – and their ability to actively make us rethink our relationship with living things.
Elise Guillaume is a Belgian artist whose work explores our complex relationship with nature. The body is a key element in her work – a vessel for interpreting and embodying the beings that make up our natural world. Interested in the interconnections of our ecosystems, the artist uses audiovisual media to explore the possibilities of a multi-species narrative of kinship.
