Place du Jour is a collection of 24 images distributed on billboards and then assembled in the form of a newspaper offered to the public, while stocks last. Pierre-Olivier Arnaud’s images are based on details, extracts and fragments of re-photographed images, taken from documents and objects gleaned from his travels. Whether abstract or figurative, these images of images and their advertising reminiscences are “the anonymous and disaffected translation of our economies, our desires and our projections”. (P-OA).
The work can be seen from the rue Braque in Arras, and the newspaper will be distributed at the Arras Ouest social centre from September 20.
