The ecological emergency and the priority of energy play a major role in contemporary social debates. Against this current and burning backdrop, Frac-Grand-Large and LAAC are focusing the second edition of their Art & Industry Triennial – on the theme of energy, explored in its many dimensions: physical, socio-economic, human and non-human, and so on.
Artists and the art world are becoming aware of the technical, social and economic issues surrounding the ecological transition, and through their poetic and political creations and projects, are proposing alternatives to follow. These reflections and actions, which are increasingly numerous and diversified, have led second-year students in the Culture, Artistic Creation and Territorial Development master’s programme at the Université du Littoral-Côte d’Opale, with the support of the Frac, to organise a day of debate and encounters around ecological issues and the implications, in this context of crisis, of artists and players in the art world.
