(Have we ever burnt ourselves?)

The exhibition “S’est-on déjà brûlé?” is part of the second edition of the Art & Industry Triennial of the Pôle Art Contemporain de Dunkerque, with the theme of Energy: Human Heat. It is built around the dialogue established between the works of the Frac Grand Large, the collection of the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Cambrai and current creation.

The central theme is the question of light as technical progress. To look directly at the sun is to blind oneself, to burn the retina, to no longer see.

This exhibition looks at how artists have challenged this principle and tried to make the unseeable perceptible.

Exhibition with works from the Frac Grand Large — Hauts-de-France, curated by Geoffrey Sol and his assistant Anna Duverney.
