As part of the Résonance film screenings for the Art & Industrie 2023 Triennial, the Lille-Sequedin prison is screening Ariane Michel’s film Les Hommes as part of Le souffle, l’air et l’eau.

On the edge of a frozen sea, a boat approaches land. Human figures emerge, looking strange. The ice, rocks and animals of Greenland watch from their unchanging world as scientists come to study them. Ariane Michel examines the question of the gaze, the point of view and exoticism, shifting them to hold up a mirror to the human race.
