“Le Soleil notre étoile” (The Sun, Our Star), followed by a sky observation session as part of “Nuit des étoiles” (Starry Night).
Mankind has paid special attention to the Sun. It is the source of life on Earth, but in the distant future it will be the cause of our demise. Its apparent movement across the sky has helped us to mark the passage of time. It is also a source of energy, responsible for winds and climate. It is also responsible for drawing the rainbows and aurora borealis in the sky. It can even cause a few problems in our daily lives. This session will give the public the chance to discover the sun in a new way, with images of its surface and the phenomena associated with it.
