Simone Prouvé

Simone Prouvé (Nancy, 1931) is a French tapestry artist. She creates abstract works for architecture or interior design, initially using traditional materials, and later incorporating innovative materials such as stainless steel threads or fiberglass. She received training from renowned artists like Micheline Legendre, Alice Lund, and Dora Jung. She collaborates with Charlotte Perriand starting in 1954, and later in the 1990s with architects like Odile Decq, Claude Parent, and Christian de Portzamparc. In 2021, the Musée national d’art moderne acquired several of her pieces for their collection.
