Myriam Mihindou

1964, Paris, France

Myriam Mihindou (Libreville, Gabon, 1964) lives and works in Paris. She is a Franco-Gabonese artist, visual artist, and performer. Her work is intersectional, exploring issues of race, gender, sexuality, language, and class. Drawing from her personal experiences and history, she shapes and expresses the experiences of suffering. In recognition of her work, she was awarded the AWARE prize in 2022. Since the early 2000s, several solo exhibitions have been dedicated to her art. An exhibition focused on her work is also anticipated at the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris in 2024.
