Mawena Yehouessi

Mawena Yehouessi (Cotonou, Benin, 1990) is an artist, researcher, and exhibition curator who lives and works between Nice and Paris. Her work centers around bodies, histories, identities, and postcolonial issues. She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies at Villa Arson, and her research project is titled “Afrofuturist Poïethics – Curation, Collage, Indiscipline/Alternatives.”

In addition to her academic pursuits, Mawena Yehouessi is the founder of the collective Black(s) to the Future.
