Marie Orensanz

1936, Buenos Aires, Argentine / Paris, France

Marie Orensanz (Mar del Plata, Argentina, 1936) is a Franco-Argentine visual artist who lives between Buenos Aires and Paris. As a prominent figure in the South American art scene, her artworks can be found in several private collections, museums, and foundations in various countries in Europe, Latin America, the United States, and more. Marie Orensanz’s conceptual practice is based on the deconstruction of structures such as language, botany, physics, and architecture. Through drawing, photography, and working with marble, she develops a solid conceptual body of work centered around the fragment. Her art has been the subject of several retrospectives in Buenos Aires, Miami, and Paris.
