Hanne Darboven

Hanne Darboven (Munich, Germany, 1941 – Hamburg-Ronneburg, Germany, 2009) was a German artist who studied at the School of Fine Arts in Hamburg. In 1966, she moved to New York for two years and quickly found herself among artists representing minimal art and conceptual art. Throughout her career, Hanne Darboven created principles of counting and indexing time, which she then represented through lines or grids. The artist exhibited internationally, and her works are present in significant public collections both in America and Europe.
