Gina Pane (Biarritz, 1939 – Paris, 1990) was a major figure of Body Art in France. She studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in the 1960s. In her artistic practice, Gina Pane developed a philosophical, poetic, and visual reflection that placed the body as a tool for understanding and transforming the world, particularly the world in its materiality, nature, and the primary elements that constitute it: earth, mineral, and vegetation. Her work has been exhibited internationally and is part of numerous public collections.
