Gabriele Basilico
1944-2013,
Gabriele Basilico (Milan, Italy, 1944 – Milan, Italy, 2013) was a photographer-architect. He graduated in architecture in 1973 from the Polytechnic School of Milan and initially used photography as a tool. Gradually, he evolved into a photographer. In 1985, he participated in the Datar project (Delegation for Regional Territorial Development) for which he photographed the seashores in Normandy and Brittany. In his photographic practice, Gabriele Basilico dissects urban structures and renews the images of modern cities. His work has been exhibited in Arles, Lisbon, Amsterdam, Paris, Toulouse, and in numerous cities in Italy.
