duo eeee (Alexis Costeux & Mathurin Van Heeghe)

Alexis Costeux (born in Saint-Omer in 1994) is a visual artist, stage director, and performer. His work focuses on the movement of the body and the creation of specific spaces.
Mathurin Van Heeghe (born in Calais in 1994) is a visual artist. His work explores the relationships between art and craftsmanship, questions the notions of territory and memory, and draws on the sharing of various expertise.
It was in 2021 that Alexis Costeux and Mathurin Van Heeghe started working together at the École supérieure d’art de Dunkerque-Tourcoing. Their complicity and complementarity led them to establish the collective “eeee” in 2022. Together, they embark on an artistic exploration of heritage, craftsmanship, storytelling, and sound.
In the summer of 2023, the duo was selected for the CRESCENDO residency, a program of cross-border residencies organized by Esä | Dunkerque – Tourcoing (France) in collaboration with ESAVL – École Supérieure des Arts de la Ville de Liège (Belgium).
