Angel Vergara Santiago

Angel Vergara Santiago (born in Mières, Spain, 1959) lives and works in Brussels. He graduated from Erg, the school of graphic research in Brussels, in 1984. His work demonstrates an expansion of painting by integrating it with the social body through performance.
Numerous solo exhibitions have been dedicated to his work, including those at M HKA (2001, Antwerp), Domaine de Kerguéhennec (2004), and MACS Grand-Hornu (2023). His work was also exhibited at the Belgian Pavilion of the 54th Venice Biennale in 2011.
