Agnes Denes

1931, New York, États-Unis d'Amérique

Agnes Denes (Budapest, Hungary, 1931) is a multimedia artist based in New York. In the early stages of her career, she was a poet and painter, but later shifted her focus to conceptual art and direct intervention in the environment. She is associated with the land art and eco-art movements, to which she adds a complex philosophical perspective. The artist seeks a synchronic relationship that human beings could have with the planet while promoting sustainable living. Agnes Denes modifies both urban and natural environments through her work. Her art is exhibited internationally and is part of significant public collections worldwide.
