Agathe Berthaux Weil

1989, Paris, France

After completing her training in classical and contemporary choreography at the C.R.R. in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, she joined the Haute École des Arts du Rhin – HEAR in Strasbourg, where she obtained her D.N.S.E.P. in 2013. From 2019 to 2021, she studied philosophy and fundamental logic at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne.

Today, she is an artist, performer, and teacher. In her practice, she builds whimsical and dizzying reasoning from ordinary questions or everyday objects. She draws inspiration from the realms of logic and epistemology and transforms her demonstrations into narratives that combine the absurd and the intelligible.

Agathe Berthaux Weil has notably performed and exhibited at the Fondation d’entreprise Ricard, the Fonds Hélène et Edouard Leclerc, the Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers, the Kunsthalle de Mulhouse, the MRAC de Sérignan, the FRAC Franche-Comté, and the FRAC Alsace.
